CLOSED – Win 2 Tickets to the Foodies Festival Christmas

[EDIT- WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT: Twitter user @MiriamgbPereira is the winner of the two tickets – Congrats, Miriam! ]

We’re about 10 weeks away from Christmas – do you feel the festive excitement? The carols and choirs and Santa’s jingling bells? DO you smell the Christmas puddings and the mince pies? GOOD FOR YOU, because I don’t. I am in the middle of a pretty traumatic house renovation project that has left me homeless or peregrinating between sympathetic friends’ spare rooms for weeks. I am honestly looking at Christmas more like some promised land where my house troubles will end than as a celebration in itself, and not looking forward to spending it unpacking and fighting over a Habitat catalogue (make that an IKEA one actually as we’ll be broke by then).

But I hope your Christmas will be better than this, and that’s why I am happy to be able to offer you a nice prize to warm up your Christmas spirit (and who knows, maybe even mine):

What: 2 (two) one-day (of your choice) tickets for the Foodies Festival Christmas

Where: Truman Brewery, London (Shoreditch High Street Overground, Liverpool Street or Aldgate Tube)*

When: November 28,29,30th

*you must be able to reach the Festival Venue with your own means; the prize does not include transportation or accommodation, so please don’t enter if you think you won’t be able to make it to London that week. Be nice, Santa loves it ;)

What can you expect at the Foodies Festival Christmas:

–  Demos and cooking classes by famous chefs (these must be booked in advance) like Ernesto Paiva of Bubbledogs, Robert Ortiz of Lima, Jesse Dunford Wood of PARLOUR, Kurobuta’s head chef Scott Hallsworth, The Bluebird’s Matt Robinson and Anna Haugh of London House.

A full range of produce available to buy in the artisan market to cook your favourite Christmas dishes or create DIY Christmas present (j’adore – if I only were so organised)

Vegans and vegetarians options with Katy Beskow (AKA  Little Miss Meat Free,  winner of Peta’s 2014 Great Vegan Bake Off )…although don’t ask me to live a life without butter, personally.

– a series of interestingly named attractions like the Producers Grotto, the Apres-Ski bar, the Soda Bar, the Cheese Village with cheese-makers from the UK, France and Italy, the Pudding Hall and the Whiskey Arena – if looking for me, Cheese and Whiskey zone are strong candidates.

– for the little ones, an Elf Cookery School invites children under 12 to bake snowballs and decorate gingerbread men, cookies and cupcakes to leave out for Santa.

In short, there’s really a lot to do so I suggest you go on an empty stomach and after summoning all of your Christmas spirit, and suspending any disbelief or cynicism towards craft beers, retro pop-ups and the likes.
